Flash

I have been working with Flash, in one form or another, since the late 1990’s, from banner ads to full Flash websites. I took to it pretty fast and have had some pretty interesting projects. These day’s I’m working just as much with Flex and Actionscript 3 and I’m very much in love with it… I see web applications as being an important part of my future. I’m also becoming increasingly interested in Silverlight, a potentially incredible Microsoft offering, though that technology is only beginning to see... uh... the light.

My most ambitious Flex project to date is a brochure builder that allows insurance company agents to customize their brochures and to generate a PDF. The builder is very much like having Microsoft Publisher in a browser and even though the builder is feature rich, my job would have been easier if Flex and Actionscript 3 played nicer with ASP.NET 2.0 which is the server environment of choice for me and my company.
