The website for the Orlando Puppet Festival 2007 was definitely a labor of love. Having lots of graphics and photos from clients is remarkably rare, but OPF had a theme for the year that I found very inspirational. The most interesting part about the development of the site, however, isn’t how the project began, but by how the project ended: with me finishing the design at the office of the client while sitting front of them. How stressful! Fortunately everybody, including myself and my business partner, were pleased with the results, and therefore a happy ending.
The design was challenging to build and finished a little weightier than I would generally prefer, but the look-and-feel was too important to sacrifice. I also had to refresh myself a little in Actionscript 2 to get the Flash feature box to automatically rotate the pictures as they loaded as well as the mask that would handle over-sized JPGs. Not a big deal, but it made me happy.
